I rarely ever go to soul food restaurants but I'm so glad my friend took me to Fixins. I ordered a simple smothered chicken with vegan greens and black eyed peas (vegan means no extra meat added to the vegetables). The food was delicious, chicken was tender, and the gravy was savory. The cornbread muffins were amazing. If you dip the cornbread muffin in the gravy, you get a delicious swirl of goodness in your mouth. The atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming. Aaron was our waiter and the service was great. I definitely plan to return soon.

I arrived on a rainy Thursday afternoon and the place was buzzing! Louder atmosphere than anticipated but the energy was great. The oxtails were fab! Full of flavor and not spicy. I got banana pudding to go and was quite disappointed by the lack of Nilla wafers. It was mostly custard with a few banana slices.
Still giving 5 stars because the service was brilliant. The staff were all in great spirits. Management’s doing a great job.

Fixins Soul Food absolutely blew me and my fiancée away! The service was phenomenal—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Every dish was incredibly flavorful with generous portions that make you feel truly taken care of. The cocktails were delicious and perfectly crafted, and the location itself is vibrant and inviting.
What makes Fixins even more special is its mission. You can feel the pride in honoring Black culture, history, and family in everything they do—from the menu to the atmosphere. It’s more than just a meal; it’s an experience that celebrates community.
Highly recommend. I can’t wait to come back!

“Fixins” was slap-yo-mama AMAZING 🤩. I’m a die-hard chicken and waffles 🐓🧇 fan, so when I found myself at LA Live during the Grammys, my stomach made the decision before I did. I ordered the two-piece C&W, but swapped the bone-in for tenders because I came to enjoy myself, not wrestle my food.
That chicken had just enough kick to let you know it meant business, and the waffle was thick, golden, and knew its role on the plate. I also ordered the collard greens, and coming from a Virginia boy, I don’t say this lightly — those were some of the best greens I’ve put my fork into. I left nothing but crumbs and good intentions.
The server was sweet as sweet tea. Service was a little slow, but I wasn’t in a hurry — I was full and happy, which is the Lord’s plan. Prices are shockingly reasonable for LA, which almost made me check the menu twice. I fully intend to come back and try those fried deviled eggs 🥚… because curiosity and cholesterol demand it.

Fixins has always been a cool and chill place that’s family friendly and a great place to treat my family to a nice meal. Tyson took such great care of my family while my mom was in town. The service was good from start to finish and Tyson was very attentive for it to be as busy as it was for dinner time. The food is good, we got the deviled eggs and fish nuggets for apps and oxtails for entrees. My son got chicken tenders and fries, and was too full to eat his cookie (lol). We’ll be back again soon!

My family and I visited here on a Sunday while in LA for a game. Everything we ordered was delicious, no complaints at all. The service was friendly and music was a vibe. I'd recommend a reservation, it got packed as we were eating which was about time church let out. We will definitely be visiting again.

Came on New Years Day with a reservation at 5:15 for 3. Would definitely recommend making reservations on nights and weekends as it is normally full. Need to try more options things on the menu before a 5 star for food but so far its really good. Mac&cheese, potato salad and collard greens are all good. The yams are amazing, tastes like they should be a dessert. Deviled eggs are good just wish it was a little more. Service a little bit slower but I think its because of how full it gets. Wish they would validate parking but its L.A live so kind of expected.

The restaurant was nice and felt warm due to the ambiance and the great customer service from the staff. We were seated immediately on the patio, under a heater; because it was chilly. We were able to people watch on a beautiful Sunday morning. The music was great! And the food was even better. We had the gumbo that came with some really good cornbread that tasted like cake. The serving was so large I had to pack the remainder to go. The chicken and waffles were very good. The waffle was soft and not over cooked. The Mac and cheese was delicious also. Parking was right across the street. Great experience overall.

I had some downtime for the weekend and stumbled across this great establishment. I usually go to yard house but it was packed due to Super Bowl. Fixins had availability & the place place was great this is my new spot when I come to Cali. The service was top tier, we ordered food and I kid you not 5mins later it came out and I told them it wasn’t mine because of how fast it came out but come to find out it was my food lol. My friend order a drink and less than 2 minutes he got his drink. I’ll definitely be coming back and the food was phenomenal. GREAT JOB!!!!!
